He told how he loved doing his radio show from C103 in Cork and explained he had more free time.

The Bandon native, 59, who spends his summers at his holiday home Ahakista, broadcast the first of his Virgin Radio UK shows from base C103 last year.

Graham told Newstalk: “I’ve read about myself or see something about myself, and I think he looks like a workaholic.”

“Honestly, if you knew my life, I’m doing nothing most of the time – I’m in West Cork at the moment, just staring at a wall.

“The other good thing about the whole pandemic is this idea of doing things remotely, which we’ve all embraced.

“I’m in a great position now where…I’m doing an Audible book club, I can do it from home.

“For the past couple of years I’ve been doing the wine blending from home via Zoom with the guys from New Zealand.”

The BBC star explained that being able to work from Ireland was a “gift” from the pandemic.

He said: “When I live in London I do the radio show from London – but at the moment I do it in Bandon.

“I’m in the C103 studios.

“I snuck out this year – I don’t think they even know I’m here this year.

“Last year they posted a photo, so this year I snuck in.

“It was awesome…it was kind of a giveaway from the pandemic.”

‘DELIGHTED’

Taking to Twitter last year, C103 CEO Kieran McGeary posed alongside Norton in the studio.

The popular BBC presenter wore casual clothes and a green hoodie and wore a pair of headphones on his head.

Mr McGeary captioned the snap: “Delighted to welcome @grahnort to the studio @C103Cork West Cork this morning.
