Peterborough Community Radio Station Award Nominations
Peterborough’s local community radio station PCRFM (103.2) has been shortlisted for the prestigious annual National Community Radio Awards.
Over 430 entries were received from radio stations across the UK. Those nominations were reduced and PCRFM was shortlisted in three exciting categories.
The nominations for PCRFM are as follows:
- Male Presenter of the Year – Kev Lawrence
- Community Show of the Year – The Kev Lawrence Breakfast Show
- Live Event of the Year – Peterborough’s Drive in Firework Spectacular (produced by Wayne Fitzgerald, presented by Kev Lawrence)
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Transport Museum in Coventry, in partnership with the City of Culture next month.
Wayne Fitzgerald, Founding Director of PCRFM, said: “We are delighted to have been recognized alongside many other stations that do a great job in the UK community radio sector. We were especially proud of the innovative way we found to interact with our listeners at a live event via an organized outdoor broadcast during the pandemic. The entire PCRFM team should rejoice at this industry recognition and know that everyone here appreciates their hard work as well.
Martin Steers, President of Awards, said: “As face-to-face events pick up, it’s great to come together and celebrate the hard work of the past 18 months. Many stations have further strengthened their vital community role during this time, and it’s great to think about it. ”
“It’s clear from this that the passionate presenters, volunteers and staff are truly there for their audience. ”
“We wish PCRFM good luck and look forward to hosting the ceremony in Coventry next month.”
Peterborough Matters makes a weekly appearance on Kev Lawrence’s show every Tuesday just after 7:30 p.m. to talk about some of the great community stories that featured on our site that week – we are proud to contribute to the show of Kev.
