The WBGO radio show will have Bill Clinton as a guest
Jeh Johnson, former US Secretary of Homeland Security and resident of Montclair, will host a new show on jazz radio station WBGO next Saturday, with former President Bill Clinton as a guest.
WBGO, a national public radio station based in Newark on 88.3 FM, recently launched a new program schedule; every few months, Johnson will host “All Things Soul,” Saturdays from 8-10 a.m.
Clinton, a saxophonist and jazz enthusiast, will be Johnson’s first guest on the premiere show.
Johnson, who served as Homeland Security secretary from 2013 to 2017 under President Barack Obama, is a longtime supporter of the station and a big fan of jazz, said WGBO chief content officer Stevan Smith.
“Jeh’s knowledge of this music and his passionate support of WBGO shows his commitment to the mission of public radio – to provide programming that celebrates the arts while educating the curious,” he said.

Johnson, for his part, said hosting the show would be “like a fantastic camp for me.”
“All Things Soul,” part of WBGO’s new “Rhythm and Soul Weekend” lineup, will feature a mix of classic R&B, vintage pop and jazz from the ’50s to ’00s, plus interviews with other guests well known.
